Sir Alex Ferguson is the longest serving manager of Manchester United till date.He took over from Ron Atkinson after he was sacked and completely revamped the whole set up of the club. He put impetus on the youth system and removed the players who did not follow his team ethos and consequently ushered a period of unprecedented success for the club.The Knighthood however came after his trebble success in 1999,which meant that he won the Champions League,the Premier league and the FA Cup in the same year! |
